Physical improv

This class explores improvisation through gesture, space, rhythm, posture, and ensemble connection. Participants develop creativity, confidence, spontaneity, and stage presence through games, movement exercises, partner work.

The class encourages students to think with their bodies, respond instinctively, and create bold, expressive performances in the moment. Suitable for performers, dancers, beginners, and anyone interested in unlocking imagination through movement and play.

About the teacher

Shawn Fisher is an improviser, performer, and educator. With over 15 years of experience in improv, you can see him with The English Lovers, one of Vienna’s longest-standing improv groups, Two-Buttons Short, and with Rainbow’s Last Wish.

Originally from the US, he has taught classes, workshops and led open improv sessions in Vienna since 2018, fostering community where curiosity leads the way.

Whether directing, MCing, or coaching at venues like Vienna’s Maestro, Shawn thrives on the spontaneity and connection of live performance—especially when leaning into the fantastical.
